Sue Conley

Susan is one of Canada’s leading sound editors with a career that spans 30 years and has taken her through animation, IMAX and television where she has worked on hundreds of hours of programming. Her awards include Canadian Screen Awards, Genies, and Directors Guild of Canada plus 2 nominations from the Motion Picture Sound Editor’s Guild in Los Angeles. Susan did not know she wanted a film career when she entered Queen’s University in the Commerce program, but a first-year elective course in film changed her life. She fell in love with film, switched departments and spent the next four years studying and making films. Susan has gone on to work on some of Canada’s most prestigious films, ”The Sweet Hereafter,” “Fugitive Pieces,” “Passchendaele” and “Burn your Maps.” For television, she has worked on such hit series such as ”Rookie Blue,” “Saving Hope” and “Mary Kills People.” Her focus on a project is always what works best to tell the story. She’s very skilled at saving the original recordings using outtakes and audio restorative software such as isotope. However, if recordings need to be replaced or the performances changed she is equally skilled as an ADR editor. Susan’s mastery of the craft, the clear and precise tracks she delivers to the mix, and her team spirit and skill at working with people ensure that she is requested time and again by clients.
