Staff. Expertise. Talent.
Steve Jones already had over twenty years of editing experience when he was approached in 2010 to become a founding partner in Pixel Underground. Starting his career back in the videotape editing days at the CBC, he quickly rose to become one of the best in the country, leading to international gigs in Europe and Japan including Olympics and World Championships as well as working on series such as The Fifth Estate, Venture, CFL Grey Cups, The Nature of Things, and countless music and variety specials. He was nominated for a Gemini Award for Sun & Moon: The Making of Miss Saigon.
Simultaneously Steve produced, directed and edited music videos for independent music artists including Death & Horror Inc., Slan, and The Birthday Massacre.
After leaving the CBC in 1998, Steve spent over a decade in post production colouring and on-lining such shows as Mayday, Psychic Investigators, Stars on Ice, World’s Greatest Spas, Comedy Now, and numerous other projects, including Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel.
Since joining Sim, Steve has lent his keen eye for colour and detail to finishing hundreds of television programs for clients including Cineflix, Cream, Saloon, Banger, Proper and Insight, on shows including Property Brothers, Food Factory, Weapon Hunter, See No Evil, Battle of the Blades, The Deed, and Gangland Undercover, as well as commercials for Manulife, Shomi, CAPP and Intact Insurance, and when his busy schedule permits, is still a fast and creative offline editor too.
With a wealth of experience and an excellent eye for detail, as well as a great rapport with clients, Steve is one of Toronto’s most reliable and trusted editors whose clients know they can depend on him to take care of all the little details and ensure their projects turn out even better than they had hoped.
