Lou Solakofski

As founding partner of Sim Post Sound & Picture, Lou has been instrumental in the design and workflow of all the mixing studies as head re-recording mixer. His early years in were spent in the music industry working on albums with many top music acts and producers. He parlayed this experience into a position as Synclavier programmer and it wasn’t long before he fell in love with creating sound for picture. His talents have taken him to France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Brazil and his creative skills can be heard in films by Fernando Meirelles, Deepa Mehta, Sara Polley, Jaco Van Dormael, and Guy Maddin. Recent projects include the Hulu series “The Handmaids Tale,” Showtime’s “Penny Dreadful,” Paul Gross’feature film “Hyena Road,” Jennifer Baichwal and Edward Burtinsky’s feature documentary “Watermark,” and the “Hip Hop Evolution” series for Banger Productions. Lou has over fifty Best Sound awards and nominations to his name including a CAS award for “Joan of Arc,” an Emmy for his work on “Nuremberg” and a BAFTA award for “Sex Traffic.”
