Marcus Valentin

Marcus Valentin was already a successful director and editor when he partnered with colourist Marc Bachli to launch Pixel Underground in 2009. Marcus got his start as a music video director and editor. He later segued into advertising and became one of Toronto’s top commercial editors, with credits including Budweiser, Kraft, Cadbury Adams and GM. In 2006, he turned his attention to long-form television, directing and/or editing doc/drama-based projects for History Channel and Investigation Discovery for shows like “Mayday,” “Nazi Hunters” and “Cold Blood.” In 2013, he was nominated for a CCE Award for Best Editing in Documentary for an Air Aces episode profiling the famed Tuskegee Airmen of WWII. Marcus is currently involved in the day-to-day management of the boutique post house (formerly Pixel Underground) and directly assists clients to help chart smooth pathways through post. On many projects, he also assumes the role of Creative Director, coming up with concepts for motion graphics and visual effects, and supervising artists and production team members in executing the work. In addition, he remains a very busy commercial editor.
