Bill DeRonde began his television career at WBNX-TV 55 in Cleveland, Ohio in 1985 as a master control operator. Seeking more challenging work, he moved to Classic Worldwide Productions, a Post Production facility in Cleveland, where he spent the next 7 years. In 1991, Classic purchased an Avid editing system, one of the first systems placed worldwide. Over the next three years, Bill traveled the globe with David Frost, editing interviews with world leaders, business icons, and entertainment legends. In 1994, Bill moved to Los Angeles and worked at Unitel and The Post Group. Seeking more independence, he founded Chainsaw in 1996. Early work consisted of promos for CBS and The WB and television programs for Fox and MTV. In 1999, VH1 hired Bill to edit the series Behind the Music. Chainsaw began to grow. In the ensuing 16 years, the company continued it’s organic and meteoric growth and with nearly 100 employees and 2 state of the art post facilities, Chainsaw now does work for every major network. Some programs include The Academy Awards, The Prime Time Emmy Awards, American Idol, Game of Thrones and Madam Secretary. Bill is a 5 time Emmy award-winner whose credits range from feature films to award shows, concert and comedy specials to TV series. Bill’s directing career has been growing as well. He has directed multiple episodes of both American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. Since joining the Sim Group in 2014, Bill has spearheaded the location and built out the new facility to combine Sim Digital, Bling and Chainsaw under one roof. In April of 2016, the brand new state of the art facility designed to promote the collaborative workflow between the three Sim companies and engineered to take advantage of all the newest technologies opened for business.
