Rental Agent


Position Summary:

The Rentals Agent is responsible for assisting the camera department with all aspects of the day to day operations and sales of the team. Collectively builds the company as the supplier of choice.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Sales:

  • Answers incoming phone calls with regard to product information and sales, order expediting, customer relations and complaints in a timely, professional and courteous manner
  • Asks appropriate questions and uses research and experience to understand and evaluate customers’ production needs and requirements
  • Uses superior industry knowledge to provide assistance, information and guidance to each client or potential client
  • Coordinates with Camera Department Manager for approval of all orders
  • Enhances financial growth by cross-promoting the Company’s varied product and service lines to existing clients
  • Effectively use RW to create quotes, invoices, track rentals and service schedules per company procedures

Sub Rentals/Transfers:

  • Assists camera department on all sub-rentals for Company by using superior industry knowledge to obtain the best equipment at the best rate
  • Assists department to ensure all inter-company transfers are made in a timely and accurate manner and are continually updated in Company’s database as per the company’s transfer procedures
  • Ensures accuracy in reviewing, adding, or changing orders as per the customers’ request
  • Executes management of consignment equipment


  • When necessary, assists camera preps and helps prep techs verify camera packages are complete
  • Greets clients/vendors in a professional and friendly manner and always offers help when loading in and out gear
  • Works with engineering staff to develop ideas that modify and/or redesign systems to improve products and/or services
  • Ensure all administrative paperwork i.e. insurance and credit applications are complete and up to date prior to equipment leaving the building
  • Assist Accounting with Receivables, including purchase orders, outstanding invoices, etc.
  • Work efficiently and proactively with other departments and locations to ensure excellent communication regarding sales and service opportunities and issues
  • Work continually on professional development to stay current on new technology, trends, procedures and practices
  • Demonstrate an appreciation for the mission, vision, and values of the company
  • Attend staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required.
  • Carry a Company cell phone and participate in the Company’s on call rotation
  • Perform others duties as required

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • University or College Diploma in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years customer sales/service experience
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs for: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Proven success in working as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to exercise judgement and problem solve under pressure
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours travel, including overtime

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Physical effort required (i.e. some lifting of supplies and material)
  • Long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
  • Some exposure to warehouse environment
